Zachary’s On Robson

Zachary’s on Robson (web site, 121 Robson St., phone 604.605.1472) is located in the Hampton Inn & Suites hotel which is on the south-east end of Robson Street downtown, right next to BC Place Stadium. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced with most items around $11.00, and I found the quality of food to be far better than I’d expect of a restaurant in a hotel. I enjoyed the Halibut pasta special ($11.99, pictured below), which had generous chunks of tender halibut in a tomato-based sauce with mushrooms and artichokes. The spinach salad (also pictured below, around $7) was quite large and tasted really fresh!

    Hello Sai,

I am the manager for Zachary’s on Robson and I’m sorry to hear that you had a bad experience on May 9th. Apparently, that evening, one of our servers had called in sick and the other server had come late due to the heavy traffic because of the Canucks game. This was beyond our control. I would like to invite you back to Zahcary’s on Robson – please give me a call at the restaurant to arrange this. Once again, I truly apologize for that experience and we have made changes for the better.

Yesterday was supposed to be an early Mother’s Day dinner with my son before going to the Canucks game. What a disaster! I ordered my prime rib well done, when I cut into it it was medium rare. It took a while to get a servers attention so I could have the steak cooked to my preference. That was a mistake, it took 25 minutes before one of the chefs returned with my food. I ended up not having my dinner and told the chef I did not want it now because it was too late. I asked to see the manager but there was none on shift. In the end we didn’t get charged for either meal but it still doesn’t make up for what happened. There were at least two other couples who complained about service while we were there. I will not be going back to Zachary’s again and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I should also say that the servers need to be a little friendlier.

I ate at zacharys on robson street 2 days ago. the service way horrible and the food was not good. I had the stuffed chicken, it was breaded, it was dry and soggy at the same time, and the potatoes had no flavour. My husband Ritesh had the steak, which was not cooked the that he had asked, and same with his potatoes as well (no flavour) and the server was no help to us, she didnt come back to see how are meals were or ask us if we wanted any refills. I will never come back here to eat and will never recommend this restaurant to our friends or family. Thats horrible considering this restaurant was recommended to us.

We had reservations for Zacharies on Robson for last night, Celine Dion Concert. The restaurant itself was nice, the food was good but the service was awful. Put a damper on our evening that costed us a fair bit. The restaurant ran out of beer, had no orange juice, we waited for 1 hour to get our 1st drink and that was served at the time of the meals, which were messed up as well. The bills were all wrong and NO ONE came back to ask if there was anything else we needed or if everything was ok. We were so very disappointed in the service. It is a shame as it is so close to GM place and a nice restaurant, with good prices and food but I will never go back for fear the same would happen. There were 8 of us and each of us feel the same. That is not good publicity for the restaurant. I will not suggest to friends or family to attend.
    Sincerly,
    Debbie Burgess
