Media Launch of the show Anna and Kristina’s Grocery Bag Season 4 on OWN in Canada

Geoff Peters from Dineouthere was invited to the special media launch party of the new season of Anna and Kristina’s Grocery Bag, a show from the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

This is Season 4 of Anna and Kristina’s popular cooking and lifestyle show where they review and cook recipes from a featured cookbook every week and are judged by a special guest Chef. As Geoff writes on his video blog Geoffmobile.com, “The show is full of funny kitchen mishaps, engaging banter and characters, and delicious food.”

For more information about the show Anna and Kristina’s Grocery Bag, please their web site or watch the video below where Geoff Peters takes you behind the scenes of the media launch party held at the Catch 122 Cafe and Bistro in Vancouver BC Canada:

EPIC Vancouver 2009 – Sustainable Living Expo (Video)

Yesterday I attended the EPIC Vancouver 2009 Sustainable Living Expo, a trade show in Vancouver focusing on green consumer lifestyles and an eco-marketplace.

The show ran from May 8th to 10th 2009 – but don’t worry if you missed it; you can soon visit the trade show’s web site for more info about next year’s show.

Highlights included a speech by Summer Rayne Oakes, ‘the Eco super-model’ who talked about sustainability and the environment, as well as her career as an entrepreneur among other things.

Also there were many eco-friendly merchants such as Vital Gifts selling fair-trade and organic foods and gifts.

I checked out the cool electric cars and fancy bikes, and listened to knowledgeable gardener Steve Whysall, author and Vancouver Sun gardening editor, talk about healthy, sustainable and fuss-free gardens. It was interesting to hear how he makes his garden weed-free by pulling up the weeds before they get a chance to bloom.

The trade show took place at Vancouver’s brand new Trade and Convention Centre which is downtown on the waterfront next to the cruise ship terminal, the Pan Pacific Hotel, CN IMAX Theatre, and Canada Place.

I made a video journal of my experiences attending the conference and have posted it below (or you can view it on Youtube by clicking here). Hope you enjoy Vancouver’s great Spring and eventually Summer weather!  -Geoff

Fall in Vancouver (Photos)

A little break from the usual restaurant updates… here are a few photos I took in downtown Vancouver, BC, Canada last weekend.

I am using a Canon Digital Rebel XT which I purchased at Future Shop, an electronics and computer games store in downtown Vancouver. Future Shop (web site, map, 798 Granville St, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, phone: (604) 683-2502) is located at Granville and Robson, which is quite close to the Granville Skytrain station.

The pictures were taken near the Miro Building (web site) at 1001 Richards Street in downtown Vancouver. The Miro, built in 2004, is a concrete condominium tower on the edge of Yaletown containing upscale condos with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. There are currently 8 units for sale in the Miro Building, ranging from $312,000 for a 517 square foot one bedroom, to $719,800 for a 926 square foot Penthouse unit. (Browse the Mls listings).
