Canada Place at Night (Part 2)

Canada Place (web site, map, 999 Canada Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6C 3B5, Canada) is Vancouver’s trade and convention centre, as well as the main cruise ship terminal. The building is a city landmark for its modern architecture and distinctive five sails that give the building the look of a huge boat. Pictured below are the sails of Canada Place at night.

After walking up to the concourse deck to take this picture, I went with my friend to the very fancy Pan Pacific Hotel Lounge which is in the same building, and we enjoyed some drinks from a table with a stunning view of the Lion’s Gate Bridge. As well as being home to this luxurious hotel, the building also houses the CN Imax Theatre, a popular tourist attraction for 3D and immersive films.

Beatty Street Bar & Grill

Beatty Street Bar & Grill (755 Beatty Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, phone: 604-688-3563) is located really close to BC Place Stadium and GM Place Stadium and is a great place to grab a beer or some food before (or after) the big game. They are also open for lunch and have a reasonably priced menu that includes burgers (such as the one pictured below, around $13), sandwiches and pastas (such as the Chicken Pesto pasta also pictured below, $13.99). The restaurant is decorated with sports memorabilia and there are plenty of TV’s tuned to the sports channels. The Beatty Street Grill is located in the Georgian Court Hotel in downtown Vancouver.

The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (web site, 900 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, 604-684-3131) is one of downtown Vancouver’s most notable landmarks, for its stunning old-world architecture set amidst the more modern towers of downtown Vancouver’s business and shopping districts. The Hotel has several restaurants, one of which, Griffin’s, serves a wonderful brunch/lunch buffet. Pictured below is a night-time view of one of the side entrances to the hotel.
