Dinner at Home

Dinner yesterday (pictured below) consisted of Superstore brand beef tortellini with President’s Choice Bolognaise tomato meat sauce, and boiled carrots and broccoli, with a dash of white wine and a garnish of fresh basil. It was really delicious. (Click here for more information on where I buy my groceries in Vancouver, the Real Canadian Superstore at Rupert and Grandview Highway).

Zachary’s on Robson (web site, 121 Robson St., phone 604.605.1472) is a medium sized, well kept restaurant located in the Hampton Suites and Inn hotel, at the eastern most part of Robson street close to the BC Place Stadium. This was my third visit to this restaurant, and again I was impressed by the quality of the food. Pictured below is my blackened black cod, which was a daily special for $11.95. Visit my previous review for more photos and info.

Bo Kong Vegetarian Restaurant

Bo Kong Vegetarian Restaurant (visitor reviews, 3068 Main Street, Vancouver, phone 604-876-3088) is a Buddhist Chinese restaurant that serves a large selection of tofu and gluten vegetarian dishes. You won’t miss the meat, even in dishes like the wonton soup (pictured below) or the pineapple sweet and sour delight (also pictured below). This restaurant is very popular among vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Dinner for two with soup, rice, and two dishes came to around $30.
